What to enter and what the metrics mean
Enter sessions, completed orders and the revenue measure you want to analyze for the same date range and channel. AOV is revenue divided by orders; conversion rate is orders divided by sessions; revenue per visitor (RPV) is revenue divided by sessions. Use sessions consistently rather than mixing sessions and unique visitors.
For the cleanest comparison, use net product sales or another clearly defined revenue field consistently. Taxes, shipping, refunds, discounts and repeat sessions can be treated differently across analytics platforms; this calculator does not reconcile those definitions for you.
Formula and a worked example
AOV = revenue ÷ orders. Conversion rate = orders ÷ sessions × 100. RPV = revenue ÷ sessions. Scenario revenue = current orders × (1 + conversion lift) × current AOV × (1 + AOV lift). The scenario compounds the two user-entered relative lifts; it is a planning illustration, not a forecast.
For 10,000 sessions, 250 orders and $12,500 revenue, AOV is $50, conversion is 2.5%, and RPV is $1.25. A 10% AOV lift and 5% relative conversion lift produce a modeled $14,437.50 at the same sessions, or $1,937.50 above the starting revenue. The conversion lift changes 2.5% to 2.625%, not to 7.5%.
Use the scenario as a test plan
AOV can move with bundles, cross-sells, pricing or shipping thresholds; conversion can move with offer clarity, product-page evidence, checkout friction or traffic quality. Change one intervention at a time and compare equivalent traffic sources and periods. Check contribution margin as well: higher revenue can still leave less contribution after discounts, fulfillment and acquisition.
This model assumes the entered changes apply to all sessions and that order count can be represented by a fractional planning estimate. It excludes seasonality, inventory limits, customer mix and statistical uncertainty. Use your analytics and order records to evaluate actual results.
